What’s the outlook for Australian property prices in 2023?
Well, a lot depends on how high interest rates go, which, in turn, depends on inflation.
But while many commentators expect the Reserve Bank of Australia to raise the cash rate again at its next meeting in February, not all of the nation’s property markets will be impacted equally.
So while prices might continue to fall in some markets, others will be more resilient.
Then there are the rental markets.
Knight Frank Australia’s 2023 Outlook Report predicts double-digit growth for 11 of the 14 major residential markets across Australia (see image).
Off the back of that strong rental growth, rental yields are tipped to head north over the next 12 months, which will “help restore investor demand”.
