“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe,” Abraham Lincoln famously said.
If you’re a property investor, there are a couple of big lessons you can learn from this quote.
First, before performing an important task, it’s important you do the preliminary work – which, for an investor, means thinking about your financial goals, learning about different property investment strategies and researching investment locations throughout Australia.
Second, after you’ve done the preliminary work, you need to take action – because there’s no point sharpening the axe if you’re not going to use it.
A lot of investors (or would-be investors) spend years learning and researching, but never end up buying a property. And that’s a big mistake.
By all means sharpen the axe. But, at some point, you need to start chopping.
