Recent Australia Bureau of Statistics (ABS) lending data suggests investors are slowly making a comeback in the country’s property markets.
That’s after the value of new investor loan commitments rose 2.6% to $8.7 billion in June from May.
While that’s 15.0% lower when compared to June 2022, the trend is undeniably upwards (see graph).
Western Australia saw the biggest jump (excluding the volatile ACT series), with investor loan commitments climbing 7.3% month-on-month, followed by Queensland (5.4%) and NSW (3.2%).
